As the Director of Security Architecture at Red Hat, he has been instrumental in shaping enterprise security frameworks, ensuring resilient and scalable solutions for modern cloud and open-source environments.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Shankar is deeply engaged in the cybersecurity community. He serves as the President & Co-founder of the Cloud Security Alliance Triangle Chapter, where he advocates for industry best practices and fosters collaboration among security professionals. His commitment to advancing cybersecurity education is further demonstrated through advisory roles, including his position as a Member of the Board of Advisors at the North Carolina Technology Association and an Advisory Board Member at the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Center for Cyber Defense Education.

Shankar’s expertise extends to threat modeling and privacy, serving as a Founding Member of Threat Modeling Connect and a Principal Advisor on information security, privacy, and compliance.
