Mario Beccia

Mario Beccia is a seasoned cybersecurity and information technology leader with extensive experience in international defense and security organizations. As the Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Cybersecurity at NATO, he spearheads the transformation of the alliance’s ICT ecosystem, implementing a Single Point of Authority for cybersecurity to enhance management across key strategic pillars.
Prior to this, he served as Head of Strategic Support in NATO’s Office of the CIO, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a harmonized and coherent operating model for ICT capabilities across the NATO Enterprise. His expertise in cybersecurity governance has also led him to contribute to strategic discussions as a Virtual Advisory Board Member, providing insights to investment funds and corporate leaders.
Beccia has been an influential member of the CISO Benelux Governing Body within Gartner’s C-Level Communities and previously held the position of Chief Information Security Officer at the European Defense Agency, where he was responsible for strengthening the agency’s cybersecurity posture and regulatory compliance.
Throughout his career, Beccia has managed key cybersecurity programs and enterprise architecture initiatives at NATO Communications and Information Agency and NATO Allied Command Transformation, focusing on emerging technologies such as cloud computing, mobile security, and cybersecurity resilience.
His technical acumen, leadership, and strategic vision have positioned him as a key figure in cybersecurity and ICT management across multinational defense organizations. His contributions continue to shape cybersecurity strategies and governance frameworks at an international scale.
