Brinnae Bent

Professor Brinnae Bent is a distinguished leader in artificial intelligence and machine learning, dedicated to bridging the gap between research and industry. She is the Founder of Tensor and Trust, a company she established in July 2024, and has been serving as a Professor (Executive in Residence) at Duke University since April 2024. Prior to this, she held a part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor role, teaching AIPI 540: Deep Learning Applications in Spring 2024.

Beyond academia, Professor Bent has made significant contributions as a Technical Advisor for Amissa Health and Basis, as well as an Advisor and Project Lead Developer for the Digital Biomarker Discovery Pipeline. Her expertise in digital health data science has led her to work as a Freelance Consultant since January 2020.

Previously, she held leadership roles at Edge Analytics Inc, where she served as Managing Partner and Senior Data Scientist. She was also an appointed member of the Research Committee at the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) from May 2021 to December 2022.

Professor Bent earned her B.S. from North Carolina State University in 2016, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. from Duke University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. Her research focuses on developing impactful AI-driven solutions, including noninvasive glucose monitoring and mobility assistance technologies.
