Cybersecurity Leadership Program

The next Cybersecurity Leadership Program will be held in Spring 2025

Successful private and public sector leaders need cutting-edge knowledge and training to meet tomorrow’s cybersecurity challenges.

The Cybersecurity Leadership Program at Duke University, a combined effort of the Pratt School of Engineering, Sanford School of Public Policy, Department of Computer Science, and Duke Law School brings together private sector leaders from various sectors and government officials for an intensive three-day program. Participants will have the chance to learn from Duke scholars in policy, law, engineering, business, and computer science, as well as from leading industry and government experts.

The focus of the program is to educate senior leaders so that they can better execute the responsibilities of a board member of a publicly traded company in the United States. That same content is critical for government officials to understand how best to work with the private sector to mitigate the risk of cybersecurity attacks. The Cybersecurity Leadership Program has a core curriculum with courses that include Cybersecurity and the Board, Challenges for the CISO, Preparing for and Responding to a Data Breach, Elements of a Cyber Program, Impacts from Incidents, among others. Additionally, participants will have the chance to participate in a tabletop breach exercise and to choose from breakout tracks in healthcare, national security, government oversight, and law.

All participants will have the chance to test for the Duke University Certificate of Board Readiness upon conclusion of the program. Also, those who complete the program will join other alumni with ongoing access to updated Duke cybersecurity education content.

Tuition

The $4,000 tuition for the program covers:

Faculty instruction from Duke faculty and expert guest speakers;
Program lunch breaks and evening mixer events;
Access to all course materials, session recordings and additional resources;
Staff support during the course of program.
